What I'm focused
on right now.

Two client retainers, two own products in active build (one in OSS maintenance), and one site rebuild shipping itself.

Building

Actively shipping Conseto — my own site-growth platform. Five pillars in one EU-hosted dashboard: Analytics (first-party, consent-aware), Legal (consent + DSAR + cookie inventory), Security (CSP + TLS + SCA), Marketing (email + attribution), Intelligence (weekly automated briefs). Currently in production testing across this site, faborino.com, and a small beta cohort.

Running Faborino — premium Montessori e-commerce for the EU. Authorized reseller of Nienhuis / GAM / Educo. 1,478 products across SK / CS / EN / DE. Google Shopping campaigns running profitably. Ongoing catalogue work + content polish.

Co-running Unoneto with my partner Matúš — a separate brand by design. Unoneto is an AI-automation duo for SK + CZ SMBs (custom agents replacing manual data entry between e-mail, accounting software like Pohoda / KROS / Money S3, e-shops, and the 2027 e-invoice rails). nkovalcin.com stays solo by design — architecture, build, retainer, one operator end-to-end. Unoneto.sk is the focused vertical when the work scales beyond what one operator should ship.

Playing with
  • Next.js 16's new caching model — still forming opinions. Server Components + the use() hook + ref as prop all land cleanly, but the cache invalidation story is more nuanced than v14.
  • Claude Code + Cowork as a two-tier workflow. Cowork plans and writes docs; Claude Code ships. This site was built end-to-end in that pairing.
  • Kovrin — my open-source AI agent safety framework. Thinking about constitutional constraints + formal verification + audit trails in production agent deployments.
  • MCP servers — three in production (lead-scout, trend-intel, social-posts). The MCP ecosystem is maturing fast; FastMCP is the Python winner so far.
  • Tailwind v4's @theme blocks — finally a version of Tailwind that treats design tokens as first-class instead of utility noise.
Thinking about
  • Why "agency" is a broken frame for solo senior work, and what replaces it (studio? consultancy? operator?).
  • What the next five years of Central European senior-freelance pay looks like as the US / UK rates compress toward ours.
  • Whether to open-source my brand tokens + component primitives so other solo operators can skip the year I spent deciding on --fg-3.
  • Whether AI-assisted coding has a sustainability limit (power, water, inference costs) that caps how far the productivity compounds.
